Analog Devices' RHP50000 is a radiation-tolerant 12.5 A Silent Switcher 2 buck regulator built for commercial space power rails. The Analog Devices RHP50000 is a commercial-space, radiation-tolerant synchronous buck regulator that delivers up to 12.5 A from a 2.25 V to 5.5 V input. The Silent Switcher 2 architecture with internal hot-loop capacitors keeps EMI ultralow and reduces sensitivity to PCB layout. The regulator is immune to single-event latch-up up to 47.0 MeV cm2/mg at VIN below 3.6 V and carries a total ionizing dose rating of 30 krad(Si), backed by wafer lot traceability and outgassing characterization. Switching frequency is programmable up to 5 MHz with a 35 ns minimum on-time, and multiple devices can be paralleled for higher current loads. The RHP50000 suits core voltage supplies, distributed DC power, and RF or communications power in satellite payloads and avionics systems.
