Traditionally specialising in Linux, Embedded systems and Open source, we deliver on extremely difficult and technically complex projects and have expertise from critical embedded devices to cloud-scale infrastructure.

We’re committed to solving problems that the sector has neglected. As a result of sustained innovation activity, we’ve advanced best practices for software engineering. Most of our work has focused on two areas with persistent issues many wanted to ignore: software integration and safety. BuildStream and freedesktop-sdk are products of the former. These tools are designed to speed-up release cycles and improve quality each time by reducing problems during build and integration, resulting in less rollbacks and hotfixes.

Our work in safety has brought open source thinking to the process of compliance evidencing. Rather than develop proprietary solutions to meet standards, we’ve pioneered methodologies and tools in the open to help advance safety standards in software everywhere. We build systems so they can be rebuilt bit-for-bit identically every time, with compliance and security artefacts generated continuously during build and integration rather than assembled retrospectively for audits.

We work at all phases of the engineering lifecycle, from ideation through to design, development, integration, testing, deployment and long-term maintenance. Our technical experts know open source well enough to understand whether existing tools can be adopted, forked, or improved, or when to build when no one has done it better.
