We take a look at the Holoscan Sensor Bridge Board Kit from Lattice Semiconductor Corporation. It's a sensor to Ethernet bridge board kit for rapidly designing and prototyping intelligent edge systems with diverse sensor input interfaces and protocols. Inside the box, you'll find the CertusPro-NX Sensor to Ethernet Bridge Board and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. The kit is designed as a bridge between an NVIDIA Jetson Developer Kit and diverse sensor inputs including cameras, radars, lidars, and more. This enables developers to rapidly design connectivity bridging applications from sensor to compute. The design is based on two Lattice FPGAs: a CrossLink-NX and a CertusPro-NX. Both of these are programmable via the same programming header, and the board is powered via the USB-C connector. The CrossLink-NX is used to process camera data and pass it to the CertusPro-NX. The 120-pin camera connector can support up to 2 MIPI channels with 4 data lanes each, and supports a variety of cameras including the Leopard Imaging 8 megapixel stereo camera. The CertusPro-NX is also connected to an FMC HPC connector on the back of the board. This provides 32 LVDS lanes and 4 JESD204B lanes plus their clocks, and it allows you to expand the hardware capabilities of the board with standard mezzanine cards, adding radar, lidar, RF ADCs and DACs, and other high-bandwidth sensors. The CertusPro-NX packetizes all of this data and sends it to the Nvidia Jetson platform over the 10 gigabit ethernet SFP plus ports. The use of ethernet allows the sensors to be easily located adjacent to or remotely from the platform, providing flexible deployment. This scalable sensor streaming solution ensures data provided at the FPGA sensor interface port arrives in DRAM with low-latency and high throughput.
